Red and Green

#links

Thanks to Susian for hosting this party. Last year I had the pipe to burst and was in remodel mode for two and a half months. So, no Christmas in this house last year.
I wanted to at least get one room ready so we could enjoy it to the fullest.

The white metal church was a gift from a client several years ago.
The small snow village house I found at the thrift shop for $5.00
I found this cloche at a thrift shop for $4.99. The deer and flowers are from the dollar store. I had a candle holder I melted the wax and put the deer in till it got hard enough for him to stand. I just pored snow around and put flowers , then the glass on.
I just had to light a fire and get the full effect of the room. Now I have the rest of the house to do. I hope all of you have as much fun as I have had doing this room.

Hello,

Your whole room looks fabulous. I love the colors you used...such wonderful contrasts that blend so well together, you can really tell by seeing this room that you paint. I like lavish decorations and you define lavish...very, very pretty. I am also in awe of how you got such a full view of the room, I have so much trouble with that in a picture...do you use a wide angle lens? Finally, thank you so much for visiting me and finding the time to leave such a nice comment.(-:

What a fantastic room! You were super lucky to find a cloche at that price, I really like the idea of melting the wax to hold the deer. LOVE the hat as your tree topper, WHO does that!? Hugs, Kim

Kathy, so nice to meet you!! I love the whimsical hat topping your Christmas tree. Your photo with the tree on the side and the fireplace in the background is just beautiful. I also love the painting you have over the fireplace. Yes, the fire in the fireplace warms it up, why didn't I think of that on my post?

You asked about the stacked Christmas cake platters - they were from TJ Maxx/ Homegoods and I got them last year but they had a few this year. You really need to start looking right during the last week of October, first of Nov. because they go super fast.
Have a great Sat.
